We had a great time on Quadra. This is the opposite of our life in Beijing, and a much needed respite. The cabin has been perfect, and all your hard work preparing it is greatly appreciated.

I love all the little touches that are designed to delight and maximize our comfort−the well-stocked kitchen, shells lined up [along the path] to the outhouse, and the little terracotta bowl by the bathtub that comes in handy when you’re rinsing your hair. I can’t believe how quiet and peaceful it is here. We had some huckleberries straight off the bushes [that line the deck] after dinner−the perfect dessert. Decided we had to stay another day. It’s going to be hard to leave!
